He was influenced by his uncle, who was a commercial photographer in California. Over the early years of his marriage, he and his wife shot many weddings and portraits with his medium format Hassleblad, Calumet 4x5 and Nikon SLR equipment, hand processing B&W in a garage darkroom. He started his own advertising and industrial videography agency in the 1970s. In the 1980s he and his wife felt a call to missions and lived in India, Egypt and Kenya from 1984-1995 doing media consulting and production. In 1990 he was instrumental in writing and producing a feature film, Sabina's Encounter, that has been seen by 50 million and has influenced well over 500,000 to seeking Christ. He currently lives in the USA and travels to the Pacific Rim region during the summers and J-Terms. His favorite camera is the vintage Nikon F2, BUT, he currently shoots with a Canon S2 IS and GDs Nikon D200 and Canon 20D.
